• Describe the  steps of Pre-, During-, and Post-  and how they relate to using listening and reading tasks. 
• Adapt listening/reading materials for Ss level
• Explain differences between Extensive and Intensive Reading

[20 min] Warm-up Review of Lexis 9:30-9:50
Go over Chart of Vocab Tasks as Review. Have them fill out blank chart in pairs and complete/add any missing information from the following chart. These are some of the other tasks that could be used if not already completed from the previous day.

[30-40 min] Listening Lecture  9:40-10:20

Pull up the first handout on the computer and go over the questions. Then, give them the second page in hard copy. On this page, they will practice making questions based on the sample listening. Play the audio the first time to allow students to practice creating intensive and extensive questions. Then, share. Finally, go over the structure of how to integrate a listening into an ESL lesson plan.

[20 min] Build a Listening Task: Lecture into Practice 10:45-11:05

Have students take the skills they learned in the first part of the lecture to build their own listening tasks. Each group will be assigned a certain stage in the lesson and present on their activity.

Draw parallels between why reading and listening skills are tied together in the book. What might be the similarities between the two?

Have students through the unit. Ask them to analyze how the various stages and skills are being organized in this fun little book.

[30 min] Build a Reading Task, CH & Task 2: Lecture into Practice 12:30-1:00
Allow student time to work on their homework for tomorrow, which is to build a pre-during and post reading task. The homework is Ch 7 Task 2. Go over the assign. They break up the structure into four parts..so clarify what you want in those four parts. To make your life a little easier, I found some sample reading texts that you can use to complete the assignments. I am NOT requiring you to take a picture of an object if you use realia. You can simply tell me in the lesson plan.

[30 min] Feedback on Student Lesson Plans for the NEXT day
Give feedback on students that are going the next day. Explain to students that you can't give feedback to each student two or three times. You will get feedback on one lesson plan twice from Svetlana and I. Those who teach today already got my feedback yesterday. You should also not be planning your lesson plans on the day that you teach. They should be planned the day before.
