[10-15 min] Lecture Introduction to Songs 11:20-11:30
Hold very brief lecture with students on how/why songs should be considered for ESL teaching. Have them brainstorm some positive elements that songs can bring to the classroom. Ask them to analyze songs into two positive categories.  Positive for Children // Positive for Adults.  After the lists have been made, spend some time having them make a similar list for possible pitfalls or problems to using songs. Discuss as class.

To spark their interest as well as show them that songs can be used for reasons of stimulation/motivation and not necessarily "grammar", have them complete the second page of this worksheet to prepare them for the song (the pages are mixed around). Then, play the song and have them write silently based on the prompt.
